Online Veterinary Hospice Consultations

You love your pet deeply, but when illness, age, or decline enters the picture, it can be hard to know what to do next.

At Dignipets, our Online Vet Consultations exist to support you through the most difficult stage of pet care — when the focus shifts from curing to caring. We provide calm, compassionate, hospice-led veterinary guidance so you can make informed decisions with confidence, clarity, and kindness.

When your pet is living with a life-limiting illness, advanced age, or noticeable decline, knowing what the right next step is can feel overwhelming. Many families tell us they feel stuck between wanting to do everything possible and not wanting their pet to suffer. Dignipets’ Online Vet Consultations exist to support you in this space — calmly, compassionately, and without pressure.

Dignipets is a mobile pet euthanasia and online pet care service specialising in hospice-led support. Our Online Vet Consultations are designed to help you care for your pet at home, focusing on comfort, dignity, and quality of life rather than cure. This service gives you access to experienced veterinary professionals who understand end-of-life care and can help you make informed, thoughtful decisions for your pet and your family.

We don’t tell you what to do. We help you understand your options and what matters most for your pet and family.

Our team acts as your guide. All Online Vet Consultations are delivered by RCVS-registered vets and nurses who are Certified in Veterinary Hospice and Palliative Care and have over ten years of professional experience. Each team member is carefully selected for their empathy, communication skills, and commitment to supporting families through difficult decisions.

We don’t tell you what to do. Instead, we help you understand your options and what quality of life looks like for your individual pet.

Online Vet Consultations focus on hospice and palliative care support. During your consultation, we can help you assess your pet’s quality of life, talk through comfort and symptom management in a non-prescriptive way, and support you emotionally as a carer. We can also help you plan ahead and understand what to expect as your pet’s condition changes.

This service is not intended for emergencies and does not replace your local veterinary practice. It works best alongside them.

Many families ask whether they can speak to someone straight away. Our reception team is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, because we believe no one caring for a seriously ill pet should feel alone at any time. Clinical Online Vet Consultations take place six days per week and begin from 9am onwards.

Availability can vary depending on your location in the UK and the type of support you need.

How our consultations work

1.

Before most Online Vet Consultations, we ask you to complete at least one Quality of Life assessment and upload your pet’s medical history through our free Dignipets app. This allows our team to prepare properly and provide meaningful, personalised guidance. Completing these steps promptly helps us arrange your consultation as soon as possible.

2.

Booking an Online Vet Consultation is straightforward. The free Dignipets app guides you through the entire process, from creating your pet’s profile to choosing a suitable appointment time. You will not select an individual vet or nurse, but every clinician follows the same hospice-led philosophy and standards of care, ensuring consistent support.

3.

Consultations are delivered online by video or phone, depending on what works best for you. Our online team provides guidance and decision support, while Dignipets’ in-home euthanasia services are arranged separately if and when needed.
