The Lynch Family
Gruffé 's cancer was a sudden diagnosis from our Vet, totally unexpected by all, and his cancer had spread that rapidly from Thursday to Saturday; we knew we couldn't prolong his suffering. We all wanted Gruffé to pass peacefully in his loving home. I couldn't even talk when I called Dignipets. The lady on the phone understood exactly what we were asking for when I dialled their number. She asked for the postcode, house number, our dog's name, and the Vet we were with and checked the availability of a vet in the area. Swiftly, she mentioned when the Vet was available. I didn't even give more information. She was that professional. Bruce called and organised to come over in the afternoon and even gave a considerate follow-up call in between to see how we were doing. When Bruce arrived, Gruffé, with one more ounce of energy, walked to the door for the last time to greet him lovingly. To Bruce's surprise, he had no idea how Gruffé made it. He knew everything about Gruffé; we didn't tell him anything. Bruce walked us through every step. He ensured that we knew while he was there for us that Gruffé was his first priority. Bruce was kind, compassionate, loving and caring to Gruffé even though he didn't meet him until that day. The most poignant Vet ever. Respectfully, Bruce gave us our time to grieve with Gruffé, quietly and peacefully, before he put him into a doggy stretcher and a comfy sleeping bag. Bruce, indeed, was the perfect professional Vet, and when Gruffé was taken away, he turned around just outside the house and respectfully bowed his head to our family and Gruffé 's home for one last time. He gave our Gruffé the most dignified and graceful death any dog could have asked for. Bruce gave Gruffé the peace he deserved. Today, we received Gruffé's ashes encapsulated in the beautiful biodegradable jar, along with his paw and ink prints. A massive, wholehearted thank you to Bruce and Dignipets for helping our perfect dog. Forever remembered.
