At Dignipets we feel it is very important that we always keep our knowledge up to date so that we can continue to be able to help your pets.
As a palliative, hospice and end of life care veterinary practice we always focus our studies to help patients in this stage of their lives.
Sam, our district veterinary nurse, was able to attend a wound care day course in Bewdley. Older pets can have delayed wound healing, and often our older pets can develop sore areas that require active management. Although dressings alone cannot heal a wound, the correct selection of dressing materials can help the healing process.
Maja and Ane were able to attend an evening CPD event on arthritis with the Physio Vet in Crewe. Arthritis is extremely common in our older patients and arthritis management is a very important part of our job. By going to events and continuing to learn updates about a conditions treatment we are better able to help our patients.
In the UK veterinary surgeons have to undertake a minimum of 35 hours of continuing professional development every year, and our nurse has to complete 15 hours of continuing professional development each year. We always focus our studies on palliative, hospice and end of life topics.
